#ARCKits Take Center Stage

When the COVID-19 pandemic caused classrooms to turn virtual, ARCK made an immediate shift to remote programming as well. However, we soon realized many of our students could not engage in our creative lessons due to a lack of supplies and materials that are typically found in the classroom. In response to this, ARCK launched a new initiative during the 2020-21 school year to provide each student we serve with an “ARCKit,” a custom art bag with all supplies and materials needed to complete our lessons and creative activities from home.

We are thrilled to share that we have wrapped up our #ARCKit initiative for this school year after our final delivery to Josiah Quincy Elementary School. In total, ARCK delivered over 550 material kits to students at our four partner schools, providing them with the tools they need to feel safe, seen, heard, and creative while learning at home this year.

During this last delivery, we were given the opportunity to speak with a team from WCVB Channel 5, along with JQES Principal Cynthia Soo Hoo.

Thank you to Doug Meehan and the WCVB team, along with Matt Wilder, for the opportunity to share with others the importance of an arts education and our dedication to achieve equity in education, especially during adverse times.

Many thanks to our partners and supporters who help ARCK ignite the imagination of under-resourced students through creative programs that ensure equitable education for all!
